DuWop Violet Eyes Palette

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, DuWop consistently impresses me with their products. My hand swatches aren't the best but this palette is really awesome. DuWop has a whole bunch of these for different colors and I had been drooling over this Violet one for a while so when I found it on sale for $8, I had to buy it. I promptly broke the main color but I'm trying not to let that spoil a good thing.

I took a picture of the back so you all could see the genius of this palette. I think it would be perfect for beginners. Basically you take the main color, then it gives you three different enhancement options, and a cream liner. The little brush included is perfect for lining as well. The picture may not show it but trust me on this one, these colors are very pigmented. With the little map on the back of the palette, it's idiot proof.

I now want all the colors (if I had a nickel for all the times I said that about a make-up product I could afford them too). Do any of you have this or a variation of this? If so, what do you think? Let me know!

TheBalm Shady Lady Palette (Cheetah)

This is my second product from TheBalm and it's the first eyeshadow product I've gotten from them. I was shopping with my friend Becca and we stumbled upon these in Marshalls discounted for $12. It was especially awesome because I had this and the other Shady Lady palettes in my Sephora shopping list for the longest time but I just couldn't bring myself to pay the $40 something for them.

I'm sorry if the swatches on my hand are a little washed out looking but you have to believe me, every one of these colors is beautifully pigmented. They also have sassy names and each shadow tells you if it is a shadow or a liner which I thought was cute. I love when products have interesting  names, there is something oh so satisfying about using a shade called "easy wheezie" on your lids.

This palette has everything you need when it comes to colors. It has many colors that can be used as eye-popping liners, two amazing highlight colors, and many different lid colors. It has neutrals for people like me who hardly wear bright colors on their lids, and it has some brighter colors for people who like a little more oomph.

This palette definitely makes me want the other two! What do you guys think? Are the other two as good as this one? Let me know!

The Body Shop Lipsticks

62

62

64

64

67

67
I purchased these lipsticks during a three for ten sale. The deal was great and I couldn't pass it up (neither could my friend Becca) so I came home with these three unusual (for me) colors.

Number 62 and 67 are not your everyday lipsticks. These are definitely best for evening wear. They are both scary dark in the tube but they both end up very attractive berry shades. I wouldn't just glob this on though, it takes careful dabbing to get a nice, non-vampirish look. I think 62 is probably the most wearable shade out of the three.

64 is actually the one that Becca and I were most afraid to wear. It is very very nude. I personally don't really like the ultra nude lip. I think it makes me look like one of the undead. I also think that when I try to pair an ultra nude lip with any dramatic eye I look like a streetwalker. This lipstick isn't that bad though. It's definitely not the first color I reach for but I think it's not nude enough to make me look like a zombie.

What do you guys think? Have you tried any of these colors? Are there any other Body Shop colors I should try? Let me know!

DuWop Crush Palette

Can we just take a step back here and talk about the gorgeous pigmentation from this eyeshadow trio? Those swatches were made with the least amount of pressure from my fingers. There is definitely a reason as to why these are among the top sellers on the DuWop website!!

I discovered DuWop back before my current obsession with Sephora and high end make-up so I am no stranger to this brand. My local beauty boutique was having a sale on DuWop products as they will no longer be stocking them so I thought it was the perfect time to get a couple that I wanted to try. Needless to say, I am extremely satisfied with the items that I purchased.

First of all, the champagne color. I am a huge fan of champagne eyeshadows. This color is so easy to use and very pigmented! I love using champagne eyeshadows on my lid, especially with a bronze or matte brown in the crease! I think just a plain champagne eyeshadow looks really pretty and is a simple enough look to be worn with a dramatic lip as well.

Next up is the cranberry eyeshadow. I loved this shadow especially for the holidays. It's a really good night time color too.

The gold is another good color for everyday. I love gold lids almost as much as champagne lids. This color is really good for summer and fall. I love golds especially in the summer when they just emphasize tans and radiance.

I wouldn't wear the colors together as they are each such a statement in themselves. I think each color can be paired with other colors or just worn by itself. I would definitely suggest this trio to anyone who is looking for a couple good shades that they can just wear without any other colors.

Urban Outfitters Dream Big Palette

I've had my eye on this eyeshadow duo palette ever since it first appeared on the Urban Outfitters website, so when I found it at my local Urban Outfitters on sale for $5 I had to buy it.

I love this for when I'm in a hurry and don't want to try anything complex. It gives you everything you need for your specific eye color including a beautiful eye pencil. I think the colors are gorgeous. The purple looks a little scary in the palette but when swatched it ends up being a beautiful color. They look really good on my eyes and they are really easy to use.

This palette is for Brown/Hazel eyes and they also have one for Green/Blue eyes. I think this is not only great for every day use, but it would also be a great gift for someone just starting out with make-up. Check it out in your local Urban Outfitters if they still have it!

Rosebud Salve Review and Comparison

I love this product. I put this on my lips every night before I go to bed and my lips thank me every morning when I wake up. I originally owned the C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve but I wanted to try Smith's Rosebud Salve because I knew that it was the original. I love both products but I have noticed some differences between them.

The first is the scent. The Rosebud Salve smells just like roses while the C.O. Bigelow Salve smells a little sweeter and more chocolate-y. There is also a difference in color although that doesn't matter.

The major difference that I have noticed is the staying power of the product. When I used to apply the C.O. Bigelow Salve before bed, I would still be able to feel it on my lips when I woke up. This is not the case with the Rosebud Salve. I'm not really sure which one is better in that case. I like that the moisture is absorbed into my lips with the Rosebud Salve but there is something about the product still being on my lips in the morning that makes me feel as if the C.O. Bigelow Salve is doing more for my lips.

In terms of my lips I really feel that both have done a great job keeping my lips in good condition. I think the products are comparable so I would recommend either of them. My one complaint is that my C.O. Bigelow Salve is very difficult to open and always has been.

Raspberry Pie,  Pink Truffle, and Peach Parfait
What can I say about Revlon Lip Butters that hasn't been said already? I love these things! They are the perfect balm/lipstick middle ground. They are especially great for winter when lips can get very very dry!

First let me tell about my struggle to find them. I had been watching youtube videos raving about these little gems for a while and I decided that I wanted some. Unfortunately I was unable to find anywhere reputable online that sold them. In my frustration I started checking drugstores. It got to the point where I was driving all over the place looking for them. After I checked 6 different drugstores (no lie) I gave up on my quest. Some time later I was in Target in New York (there is no Target in my state). I figured I would check out the beauty section to see if they had any good stuff. I was looking for brush cleanser. I was browsing when I turned around and there they were. There were hardly any colors left so I bought one at the time. My sister bought me three there for Christmas. After that, I knew I had to have more. I finally found some at my local Bed, Bath and Beyond. The selection there is pretty much depleted now but I got a lot of the good colors.

I definitely have some favorites off the bat. Pink Truffle is my hands down favorite color. It is the perfect my lips but better shade. Some of the other colors that I have are a little crazy for everyday use but Pink Truffle is amazing. Aside from my original color, Strawberry Shortcake, Pink Truffle is my most used color.

Candy Apple is another one of my favorites. My sisters and I are a little obsessed with red lips. Red lips are oh so difficult to pull off and it is sometimes frustrating. Not any more! Candy Apple is the perfect sheer but buildable red color. I can go out with just eyeliner and Candy Apple and it looks great. I love the wearability of this color!

Cherry Tart was a pleasant surprise. I thought it was going to be a darker/deeper read than Candy Apple but it ended up being a gorgeous purply-red sheer color. It doesn't look too intense on me and I really like it.

I'm not going to talk about every color because I have 9 and so many other people have reviewed them that it doesn't seem necessary. My least favorite is Peach Parfait but that is only because it has glitter in it and it is a little less buttery. Otherwise I really love all of them. Hopefully I will be able to collect more. I have been told that they are permanent items (if only our local drugstore would get them in stock, it's a 30 minute drive for me to get them)!

My Christmas Beauty Presents

So I just wanted to share with everybody what I received that was beauty related for Christmas. Usually people tell me that I have too many beauty products and refuse to give me anything more so imagine how surprised I was to receive all this beauty goodness!

First I got a (top left) beautiful mirror from my Aunt and Uncle. They also gave me a target gift card which I used to purchase the two Nicole by OPI nail polishes in You're an Angel and Call me Classy.

The next two nail polishes came from my best friend Becca and they are Sephora by OPI. The purple one is Just a Little Dangerous and the silver is a crackle called Blasted Silver. The next three nail polishes were from my boyfriend's mother. Two of them are mini polishes from last year's OPI spring collection. The other is one of the Rite Aid snowmen that people rave about.

The bag was from my other best friend, Leslie. It's a Vera Bradley make-up bag and I think it matches the mirror perfectly!

Next is the Buxom Mix and Mingle Set. That was also from Becca. I absolutely love Buxom and the mini sizes are enough to last me a lifetime! My sister Maddy gave me three Revlon lip butters (Is there anyone who doesn't love these?) in Tutti Frutti, Pink Truffle, and Lollipop. I will gush more about the Revlon lip butters later.

The next three items are all from Avon and they are also from my boyfriend's mother. I have two Avon lip glosses that Becca gave to me a long time ago but they are such dark colors that I can't wear them on a daily basis. Other than those, I have never had much experience with Avon products. I especially love the little Santa hand cream that she gave me.  I've used it every day since I received it on Christmas and my hands feel great! It's probably they first winter that I've actually taken time to properly moisturize my hands. The brush on the bottom and the candy cane shaped shower gel are also from my boyfriend's mother but I haven't used either of them yet.

The final item is the Stila Daydream Palette that my sister Liz gave me. I absolutely love this palette! I will definitely be doing a review on this!

Please leave questions and comments and subscribe! Tell me what beauty items you got for Christmas or whatever gift giving holiday you celebrate! When I get to 50 subscribers I'll hold a giveaway!
